Snacks & Bars
We have carefully evaluated what outdoors enthusiasts typically need from snack products and looked at what is currently available. Our conclusion is that flapjack bars offer the best mix of nutrients and energy, for walkers and backpackers at least. Flapjack has lots of oats, which release energy slowly over a long period, which is generally what is needed.
We currently stock products from Classic Cakes, who are based in Daventry and aim to provide high quality products produced under the strictest of hygiene conditions. We've found they produce an excellent range of flapjacks, with good oaty flavour, great texture, and lots of calories for the weight carried.
The products we carry (Chocolate Chip Flapjack, Fruit Flapjack, Plain Flapjack and Raspberry Flapjack) are all Fairtrade, providing farmers and workers in developing countries with better prices, better working conditions and fair terms of trade. The Fruit Flapjack is also organic.
